King Seiko Seiko Watchmaking 110th Anniversary Limited Edition. To mark 110 years of watchmaking excellence, Seiko is highlighting its continuous dedication to evolving technology, as well as diversity, equality and the sustainable manufacturing necessary to meet environmental challenges. This landmark Limited Edition, available only in a controlled-production run of 1,200, with the serial number engraved on each caseback, expresses this vision in both its design and its materials. Introduced in 1961 and in production until 1975, the King Seiko became one of the company's most technically innovative and stylish brands, noted for its sleek, dignified angularity. First re-interpreted last year, today's slender and elegant King Seiko features a newly developed slim case, with a thickness of only 10.33mm, and the thin 6R31 automatic movement, with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, and manual winding capability. Honoring the watch's history, the three-dimensional dial features the new "Kameido Kikko" pattern, reflecting both "kikko-monyou", a traditional Japanese good omen, and the pattern of the turtle shells native to the turtle-shaped Kameido, the birthplace of the brand. In a dark brown gradation inspired by the Japanese pond turtle, the dial features meticulously cut three-dimensional indices, including a separately carved 12 o'clock marker. Crafted of stainless steel, with the combination of mirror and hairline finishing characteristic of the original King Seiko, as well as the King Seiko crest on caseback and crown, and a new King Seiko buckle on the additional black calf leather strap, this elegant timepiece also offers a box shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, and a deployment clasp with push-button release. With turtles as a symbol of longevity and good luck, the watch also symbolizes a commitment to the future, expressed in the sustainable leather on both sides of the strap, sourced from the hides of livestock and certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG). 10 bar, 100M Water Resistant.
